Sunday Teams
Our Sunday worship gatherings are like one big family party, celebrating Jesus and the Good News of the Gospel. And like any good party, it takes a lot of work and a large team of volunteers to make Sundays happen every week both on-site and online. Check out the opportunities to join a team and serve on Sunday mornings below.
Audio / Visual
The use of sound and image are important parts of how we communicate the good news about Jesus. This takes a hard working group of folks to run the sound board and slides, edit recordings, and upload videos. If you are interested in any of the available positions below, contact Abhishek Varghese (avarghese@umass.edu).
Soundboard Operator - Serve once a month on a rotation. Requires early arrival to Sunday service for soundcheck and maintenance of the soundboard during the service. This is an on-site position. No previous experience necessary as significant training and shadowing experiences will be provided, though must be technically adept.
Slides Manager - Serve once a month on a rotation. All slides are pre-arranged, but the Slides Manager operates the MacBook during the service and navigates the program ProPresenter to display worship lyrics and sermon slides. No previous experience necessary. This is an on-site position.
MH Kids: Children's Ministry
We're currently looking for new volunteers to provide excellent discipleship for our smallest MHers. Contact MH (kaitlyn@mercyhouse365.org) if you are interested in serving through the ministry on Sundays. The available positions are:
General Volunteer - Serve on a rotation discipling children (birth - 2nd grade) on Sunday mornings during first service this fall semester.
Teacher - Serve on a rotation throughout the fall semester. Requires 1 hour of lesson prep and 45 minutes teaching the lesson on your assigned Sunday. Lesson plan support will be provided by the MH Kids Director.
Point Person - Serve on a rotation during the fall semester. Requires arriving early before service, prepping the area for intake of kids for the morning, greeting families & running registration, check out of kids after service to their parents and care givers.
Sanctuary set up & Clean up
This team ensures that our church family and newcomers have easy access to the Word and to relevant information by preparing and maintaining our sanctuary space. They also reorganize and sanitize the space after each service, so the sanctuary is ready to welcome the next wave of our community. Greeters and Ushers
We have a team of people who work hard to greet, direct, and seat folks as they come in on Sunday mornings before and during both services. If you are interested in welcoming others into our household on Sundays, contact Noreen at noreen@mercyhouse365.org to join the team.
Prayer
Every Sunday, we collect prayer requests and praises from the congregation. The prayer team receives these requests in their email inbox and prays over them on their own time each week and on Sunday mornings in the Upper Room.
