The Basics

MERCYhouse was started in Amherst, MA in 1999 by Joe Greene and Robert Krumrey in cooperation with The Baptist Convention of New England. You may be thinking, "How exactly do you start a church?" Well, we wondered that too until September 12, 1999.

Let us fight apathy in our walk with Christ as we humble ourselves in fasting and prayer together as a family this week! Check out the opportunities we have this week below. • Family Fast : Join us in a 24-hour fast beginning at dinner time on Wednesday, April 18th (skipping dinner) running through dinner time on Thursday, April 19th (breaking the fast at dinner). We will break the fast together at Panera in Hadley around 7:15pm immediately after Persist. Check the link in our bio for helpful information on fasting to prepare you for Wednesday. • Family Prayer : We will hold our Persist Worship and Prayer Night at MERCYhouse, 5:30-7pm on Thursday, April 19th. Join us as we look to the God who shows no partiality to guide us into cleansing and pruning that we may bear more fruit as a family! • 24-Hour Prayer : We also have 24 hours of scattered prayer again beginning midnight Wednesday and running through midnight of Thursday. We had snow at Beloved this weekend but that didn’t keep us from experiencing new life! A special thank you to our women’s ministry team and retreat speaker, Kori Porter, for all they did to make it happen. May we continue to find ourselves in Christ and Christ alone!

Fifty years ago today, on April 4, 1968, Dr. King was fatally shot outside the Lorraine Motel.
