Classification: Full Time
Compensation: Salaried, commensurate with experience ($37,500 to $43,700). Benefits include healthcare, paid time off and matched retirement contributions.

We are looking for a responsible, proactive Director of Operations to be responsible for managing the daily operations of the church by facilitating church events including Sunday Worship Services, engaging in member care and new attender connection as well as overseeing the maintenance of the church facility. The Director of Operations helps manage volunteers and vendors, works with the community, and supports the lead pastor, other church staff members and ministry leaders.

We believe a successful Director of Operations for MERCYhouse will be someone who is able to independently handle multiple tasks to ensure the church is well-run, maintained, and operating toward our Vision and Mission. We are looking for someone who is generous, efficient, detail-oriented, compassionate, Gospel-driven and who has a heart for service of both MERCYhouse members, attenders and the local community.

Qualifications:

  • Shall have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ

  • Shall become a member of MERCYhouse Church as soon as possible after employment and appointment, if not already a member

  • Shall have a heart soft for the Lord and for those seeking to worship and walk in His ways

  • Shall be of sound doctrine, practicing and supporting the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message, and the MERCYhouse Constitution and Bylaws 

  • Shall have an attitude and communication style (oral and written) that reflects understanding of servant leadership, with a teachable spirit  

  • Shall demonstrate strong organizational skills with attention to details  

  • Shall possess the interpersonal skills needed to relate to a diverse group of people such as pastoral staff, church leaders, deacons, children, youth, adult members of our church and the community.

  • Shall be a team player who wants to support and encourage other staff and volunteers  

  • Relevant experience strongly preferred

  • Shall undergo an in/out of state background check for individual applicant and spouse

  • Possesses strong computer skills

  • Ability to keep confidential and sensitive information.

Responsibilities:

Connect:

  • Support staff by maintaining weekly agenda and quarterly objectives and planning sessions previously set forth.

  • Assist Ministry Leaders in recruiting and coordinating volunteers, and keeping track of staff work and vacation schedules.

  • Following up with new attendees, tending membership and inputting information into church database.

  • Handling church communications and signage, creating and distributing weekly newsletters.

Coordinate:

  • Coordinating, planning, and executing church events including Sunday Morning Worship in cooperation with Elders and other ministry leaders.

  • Assisting with scheduling meetings, renting church facilities, and keeping track of Calendar of events.

  • Being the main point of contact for MERCYhouse and distributing communications to appropriate parties.

  • Overseeing church facility maintenance and security operations including the filing of paperwork for permits and licenses.

  • Preparing the MERCYhouse space for Sunday Morning Worship and other events including cleaning, tidying and cultivating a hospitable environment

  • Purchasing items and supplies necessary for daily operation.

  • Assist Bookkeeper with deposits, bills and other tasks
